We are seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our team at The Rock, Bury. As a Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for cleaning a busy shopping and leisure center, including mall floors, emptying bins, litter picking, and using machinery such as jetwash, scrubber dryers, cardboard baler, and waste compactors.
Responsibilities:
- Clean toilets and top up consumables
- Dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces
- Scrub kitchens and toilets
- Empty bins in front of house areas
- Move glass and food bins into the yards and replace with new ones
- Use machinery such as jetwash, scrubber dryers, cardboard baler, and waste compactors
- Hoover and mop floors, including stairwells
- Disinfect high touch points
- Perform detail work, such as skirtings, sills, and fixtures
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly
Requirements:
- Experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or maintenance role is beneficial
- Understanding of how to use PPE
- Ability to follow company policies, cleaning protocols, and safety regulations
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work on own and as a team
- Excellent timekeeping
- Good communication skills
